WEEKEND WEATHER: Wrap up warm folks, it’s going to get chilly as temperatures drop to -4

Wateford residents have been warned to wrap up warm over the weekend as temperatures are set to plummet below zero.

According to Met Eireann, today will be a cold day with sunny spells and isolated showers with highest afternoon temperatures of just 4 to 6 degrees.

Friday night will be very cold with a widespread sharp frost under clear skies as the thermometer plummets to -4 in some areas.

On Saturday, the frost will clear to leave a mostly dry day with spells of sunshine, with the chance of a few showers in south Munster.

Daytime temperatures will range from 4 to 7 degrees  while Saturday night will be bitterly cold with temperatures again plunging between -4 to zero degrees.

Sunday will see a cold and frosty start the day but it looks set to be a dry and sunny day with just light breezes with maximum afternoon temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees.
