WEEKEND WEATHER: Waterford’s in for a mild and dry start to February, says Met Éireann
Waterford can look forward to a largely dry weekend as the South East escapes much of the rain and showers forecast for the North and West of the country.
Met Éireann has forecast a mild weekend for this part of the country with temperatures rising to as high as 13 degrees today.
Rain is expected this morning, some heavy, but it is likely to clear eastwards after a while, giving way to brighter spells.
The national forecaster said: “Mostly dry weather, however a few showers will develop. Another blustery day with fresh to strong south-westerly winds. Staying relatively mild, with afternoon highs of 11 to 13 degrees.”
Tomorrow will be mainly dry with sunny spells for Munster and Leinster, although much of Connaught and Ulster will be hit with “persistent rain and drizzle”, according to Met Éireann.
Sunday will start off dull and damp over much of the country, with showers and possible sleet on higher areas, although the South East will again escape the brunt of the bad weather.
Met Éireann said: “Maximum afternoon temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees, mildest in the south, in blustery south-westerly winds becoming fresh to strong on coasts.”
The forecast is pretty encouraging for Monday too.
“Largely dry with sunny spells further south and east. Maximum temperatures 5 to 9 degrees,” Met Éireann added.
