WEEKEND WEATHER: Good news if you’re planning to venture outdoors in Waterford this weekend
After a glorious Autumn week, Waterford is set to enjoy three more lovely days before the cold begins to move in across the country.
Met Éireann said today will be another dry and mostly sunny day with early fog patches clearing during the morning and highest afternoon temperatures of between 16 to 21 degrees.
And the fine weather will continue into tomorrow. The national forecaster added: “Another dry day is expected on Saturday with good sunshine in many areas. It will feel somewhat fresher with top temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees.”
The south east should escape the showers forecast for the north and west on Sunday, which will also be a dry day with the mercury rising to between 16 to 19 degrees.
Overnight fog is set to bring much cooler temperatures. But Met Éireann said that when it clears later on Monday morning “it looks set to be another predominantly dry day with good sunshine in many areas”.
However, cooler temperatures are forecast for next week.
Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly warned: “Emm, enjoy the next few days and make the most of any outdoor furniture and also maybe get the chimney swept and check the oil tank.
“Latest GFS animation here showing upper air temperatures for the 9 days and you can see the nice warm air slips away next week. Details are subject to change this far out but the trends support much colder air later weather next week.”
“It is expected to turn somewhat more unsettled into the middle days of next week as an Atlantic regime begins to take hold bringing some rain at times and blustery winds.”
