WEATHER ALERT: Waterford issued with rainfall warning, more thunderstorms forecast

Waterford has been included in a new rainfall warning as the entire south half of the country faces a washout tomorrow.

Met Éireann also warned of thunderstorms overnight as the rain buckets down.

The alert is in place for all of Munster, as well as Kilkenny, Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly and Galway.

The warning will kick in at 2am and will remain in place until 11.59pm tomorrow.

Met Éireann said: “Heavy, possibly thundery, rain at times overnight and during Monday with accumulations of 25 to 40mm in places. Localised flooding may occur.”
