We miss the bus: Petition calls for new Dunmore service

Bus Éireann is to be presented with a petition calling for a bus service from Waterford city to Dunmore East.
The petition is being organised by People Before Profit. “The provision of a double decker bus service on the Waterford to Dunmore route is urgently needed,” said the party’s Úna Dunphy. “It must be in place before the schools reopen.”Dunmore has been without any regular daily bus service for months. The private operators stopped services because the social distancing rules meant the buses weren’t profitable. The Slieverue/Hospital service has also stopped and there is a separate petition calling for its reinstatement.

Ms Dunphy said reliable restored routes were essential not only to public service but in the interest of reducing emissions.
