WATERFORD WEATHER: Wrap up well this weekend – temperatures to drop to -3C

Have your wolly hats and scarves at the ready if you’re venturing outside this weekend. Waterford and the South East is bracing itself for a Big Freeze this weekend, with temperatures set to plummet to an icy -3 degrees tonight.

Motorists are being urged to take it easy on our roads after a bitterly cold and frosty week, which has driving conditions treacherous in parts.

Met Éireann said today will be a cold, bright and dry day with sunny spells. It won’t will feel as cold as of late in the early stages of the day, but temperatures will drop to -3 by tonight.

The cold weather will continue for the foreseeable future, although tomorrow and Sunday will be mostly dry in Waterford and throughout the South East.

The national forecaster said: “Cold and frosty on Sunday night with patchy mist and fog also with overnight lows of 0 to -3 degrees.”

Monday and Tuesday are also forecast to be cold, bright and dry and that pattern is likely to continue next week.
