Popular Waterford store is finalist in international Shop of the Year Awards
A Waterford shop has been named as a finalist for a prestigious international award.
Mezze in Tramore is among 36 independent retail outlets that have made the final of the Guild of Fine Food’s annual Shop of the Year for 2020.
Just opened last June, the store offers a selection of hard-to-find middle eastern herbs and spices alongside artisan foods from Ireland.
It will now undergo two rounds of judging, a visit by one of the judges and a mystery shopper.
Mezze’s owners shared their delight on after they learned they had made the final cut.
“We’ve just found out that Mezze is a finalist for Shop of the Year in The Guild of Fine Foods Awards,” they posted on social media. “Our little shop in Tramore has been selected out of those in Ireland AND the UK as one of the 7 finalists for a specialist food shop.”
The winning shop will be crowned at a ceremony in Yorkshire, England, next March.
