Waterford hospital crisis: Visitor restrictions at UHW extended into fourth week
The ban on visitors attending University Hospital Waterford has once again been extended and could enter into a fourth week.
Visitors are being urged to stay away from the regional hospital unless their visit is absolutely necessary as staff there continue to battle with a flu outbreak.
The visitor ban was initially implemented on Saturday, December 21. If extended into the weekend, the ban will enter its fourth week.
A hospital spokesperson told WaterfordNow.ie: “The strict ban on visitors has been extended and the hospital remains closed for the coming days.
“The public is asked not to visit the hospital unless absolutely necessary. If visitors are attending, we ask them not to bring children if at all possible.”
