A Hollywood superstar has vowed to visit a county Waterford school when the Covid-19 restrictions allow him to travel here.

Mark Wahlberg, aka Marky Mark, the 49 year-old star of blockbusters such as The Fighter, Boogie Nights and Ted, made the promise to students of Ballymacarbry National School (Scoil Náisúnta Baile Mhac Cairbre) in a video made for those students graduating from primary school this year.

In the video posted last Thursday, July 2, the superstar appears after more words of congratulations for the 6th class students from Johnnie B of The 2 Johnnies, Irish soccer legend – Niall Quinn, children’s author -Judi Curtain, and Irish rugby star Gordon D’Arcy.

In the minute long clip, Wahlberg congratulates the students on their graduation, considering the difficult year they have had, and signs off by saying he will visit soon alongside Fr O’Ryan, a priest in Los Angeles who is related to the Principal of Ballymacarbry National School, Michael O’Ryan.
