WATCH: Gardai break up party of up to 60 young adults in Waterford estate
A shocking video has emerged online of gardai having to disperse a crowd of teens and young adults who had gathered at a house in Waterford City over the weekend for a party.
The video went viral last night and shows up to 60 people leaving a house in the Templars Hall area of Waterford City on Saturday night after three gardai arrived to shut the party down.
Waterford Gardai confirmed to WaterfordNow.ie that the video circulating online is indeed of an incident in Templars Hall, as speculation had been mounting online as to the exact location.
A local garda spokesperson told WaterfordNow.ie: “Waterford gardai attended a house in Templers Hall on Saturday evening where those inside were breaching Covid-19 regulations.
“When those in the house were asked to disperse, they did immediately and that was the end of the matter.
“We would like to remind people that Covid-19 is still an active threat and ask people to adhere to guidelines on gatherings and social distancing being asked of us at the moment,” they concluded.
