Two new faces for Waterford Council to be unveiled next week
The two new names who will be co-opted onto Waterford City and County Council will be known by this time next week.
Waterford Council has called a Special Plenary Meeting for Tuesday of next week where the filling of the two vacancies created by two councillors being elected to the Dáil recently, will be resolved.
The vacant seats have been created by the election of Independent TD Matt Shanahan and Green Party TD Marc O’Cathasaigh to Dáil Éireann.
The seats must be filled in accordance with Section 19 of the Local Government Act 2001.
It is understood the Green Party will go back to their members locally to select a nominee to the council.
