Two men were arrested at a Covid-19 checkpoint in Waterford following the discovery of more than 50 grammes of heroin which had been hidden in a car, thanks to the quick thinking of an off-duty Garda.

The gardai was driving on the M9 Motorway Southbound in the direction of Waterford at around 7.40pm yesterday evening when they noticed a car which roused their suspicion.
