Two emerging Waterford stars named in Ireland’s U20 Six Nations squad

Two young Waterford men have been named in Ireland’s Under 20s Rugby panel for the upcoming Six Nations.

Forwards Eoin O’Connor and Thomas Ahern hail from Waterpark Rugby club and were named as part of Gareth McNamara’s 35 man squad announced today.

Both men are part of the Munster Academy and are plying their trade in Limerick at the moment and there is a good possibility the pair could pack down beside each other.

Eoin O’Connor (19) is a powerful 107kg, 6ft 7’ second row who plays with Young Munster and has lined out four times for Munster A.

Tom Ahearn (19) is a towering 110kg 6ft 9 lock currently playing with Shannon. He has played twice for Munster A so far.

Ireland’s first game is against Scotland at  Irish Independent Park, Cork on Friday, January 31.
