Towering achievement: Hard work pays off for famous Waterford hotel as it receives four-star rating
A landmark hotel in the centre of Waterford City is celebrating today after receiving the news it has been upgraded from a three-star hotel to a four-star establishment.
The Tower Hotel and Leisure Centre on the Mall in Waterford was upgraded by Ireland’s tourism authority, Fáilte Ireland.
This recognition is testament to the work done on the Tower Hotel over the past two years as it recently completed a massive renovation project which saw all 134 bedrooms undergoing a full refurbishment.
As part of the renovations the hotel created an extended new lobby with atrium, they refurbished the Ardmore Suite Ballroom and Ardmore Lounge, and upgrade all of the guest bedrooms.
The renovations saw the hotel recently open two new dining outlets for guests and locals – Hobson’s Restaurant and the Pier 37 Bar & Grill.
Commenting about the new 4-star rating, Seamus O’Carroll, General Manager of the Tower Hotel and Leisure Centre said; “We are absolutely delighted to be upgraded to a four-star hotel.
“The team here have worked incredibly hard over the last two years to improve all the facilities and everything from the bedrooms to the lobby have seen an extensive investment that ensures the guests have a wonderful experience.
“We are extremely proud of earning this additional star, along with being awarded an IASI award for our excellence in accommodation services, this is a great way to kick off 2020.
“We look forward to welcoming people from near and far throughout the year.”
