That’s class: Waterford’s Mount Sion set for major investment
Mount Sion CBS Secondary School on Barrack Street is set for a major expansion of facilities, according to a local Fine Gael Senator.
A post on Senator John Cummins’ Facebook says that the Waterford City school, one of the largest in the county, is set to get three new classrooms and SET rooms, two SEN base & ancillary classrooms, and one room each for art, woodwork and computers.
“Delighted to receive confirmation from my colleague Minister McHugh that Mount Sion CBS has been approved by the Department for considerable investment,” Senator Cummins posted.
“I’d like to congratulate principal Edward Kennedy, former principal John McArdle & all the staff at the school for their tireless work in growing their numbers over the past 10 years & for gaining the support of the department for this significant expansion & investment.
“A design team will now be appointed to prepare a scheme for planning that encompasses the above. I have assured the principal of my full support for the project & offered any assistance I can give! It’s great to see further investment in our inner city!”
