Swimmer rushed to hospital after rescue drama off coast of Tramore

A swimmer was rushed to University Hospital Waterford (UHW) today after they were rescued from the water near the Guillamine in Tramore.

The swimmer got into trouble about 100 metres from the shore at around 12.45pm.

The Tramore RNLI lifeboat arrived at scene shorty afterwards and took the swimmer to the pier.

The swimmer was taken to UHW for treatement.
