Summer? What summer? Waterford set to be lashed out of it as Yellow rain warning issued

Summer? What summer?  Waterford has been issued another Yellow weather alert, this time for rain, following the thunder and lightning warning issued earlier in the week.

Met Éireann has included the following areas in its Status Yellow – Rainfall from tonight until early Friday morning: Waterford, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo and Tipperary.

“Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will occur in places during the period,” the warning says.

“While some areas will miss the showers where they do occur there will be some torrential downpours, localised flooding and hazardous driving conditions.

“A more prolonged and widespread period of heavy rain will occur later on Thursday.”
