Strict visitor restrictions at Waterford hospital as five new cases of Covid-19 confirmed across country
Strict visitor restrictions have been put in place at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) as part of new measures to combat the spread of infection.
It comes as five new cases of coronavirus were confirmed today, including a male in the east and a healthcare worker in the south of the country.
UHW is one of eight hospitals where strict visitor restrictions have been enforced by the South/South West Hospital Group.
Health authorities are also encouraging people to phone their local GP first before presenting at emergency departments.
