Something for everyone in Seachtain na Gaeilge sna Déise
Seachtain na Gaeilge is upon us again, and a host of events are being celebrated in Waterford city and county throughout the next two weeks.
This year the Irish Office of Waterford City and County Council is collaborating with a number of different groups to provide events and activities ranging from storytelling, arts and crafts, table quizzes, bingo, music sessions, and lunches and teas as gaeilge.
Some of the highlights include the numerous bilingual events being held by the County Library Service such as ‘Bingó as Gaeilge’ for Children in Ardkeen, Brown’s Road, Portlaw and Tramore Libraries; and Storytelling & Songs for Children with Jacqui de Siún from the Waterford Childcare Committee at Dungarvan, Ardkeen and Tramore libraries.
While for adults the Council’s Irish Office is organising a bilingual table quiz in the Cove Bar on the Dunmore Road, next Thursday; a Lón Gaeilge/Irish Lunch will take place again on Thursday in the Espresso restaurant on Parnell Street; while a number of Irish language conversation groups operating in the Déise will be hosting events in Dungarvan, Tramore and in Waterford City.
Therefore, if you would like to practice your ‘cúpla focal’, or simply listen to our native language in use, please feel free to attend any of these free Seachtain na Gaeilge events. Bain sult as!
