Scouts unveil plans to build new state-of-the-art den in county Waterford
A scouting group in Waterford is looking to build a new den of its own which would not just benefit the troop, but all the 2,000 people involved in scouting across the city and county.
The 35th Waterford Copper Coast Scout group has applied to Waterford City and Council to build a new den and community facility at Ballyscanlon Lough, near Fenor.
The new building would consist of a troop hall, a store, a kitchen, an office, a meeting room, showers, toilets and a covered terrace.
The plans also seek permission for a new entrance and a car park. The 250sq mts facility would be made available to the community if given the go-ahead.
The 35th Copper Coast Scout group caters for young people aged between 6-25 years of age in the catchment area of Dunhill, Fenor, Annestown and Bonmahon.
