Rugby World Cup Final: Joy for ex-Munster coaches Felix Jones and Rassie Erasmus
There was joy for former Munster coaches Felix Jones and Rassie Erasmus after they defeated England 32-12 in this morning’s Rugby World Cup Final in Japan.
Irishman Jones left Munster’s coaching staff in June 2019 and controversially joined the South African national team as a defence consultant ahead of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
Erasmus is South Africa’s head coach and Jones was the third member of the Munster backroom staff to join Erasmus, linking up with defence coach Jacques Nienaber and conditioning coach Aled Walters.
Erasmus was director of rugby at Munster when Jones began his coaching career with the province in October 2015 after he was forced to retire from all rugby due to a neck injury.
Today’s result was a repeat of the 2007 showpiece when the Springboks also defeated England in the Rugby World Cup final in Paris.
