Rogue driver performed dangerous stunts in front of Garda car before chase near Waterford beauty spot

Gardai were involved in a high-speed chase drama near a county Waterford beauty spot over the weekend.

Members of the Garda Road Policing Unit were dispatched to the Vee Pass near Lemybrien and the Tipperary border in the Knockmealdown Mountains late on Sunday night following a number of reports of dangerous driving.

When gardai arrived at the scene, one brazen motorist pulled off a number of dangerous stunts in front of the patrol car.

Gardai attempted to box in the vehicle, but it managed to flee the scene with the officers in pursuit.

After a brief chase, gardai managed to bring the car to a controlled stop.

The driver was arrested and taken to Cahir Garda Station in county Tipperary where he was charged with dangerous driving. He is due to appear in court soon.
