Relief as first Waterford FC player tests negative for Covid-19

Waterford FC have confirmed that one of their player has tested negative for the coronavirus.

The player was the first of two squad members who reported having Covid-19 symptoms.

The second player is currently awaiting the results of their test. The Blues said the club will remain in shutdown until they receive the outcome of that test.

The Blues are due to play Cork City on Saturday at the RSC.

The latest development comes a day after Waterford FC doctor Sinéad Fitzpatrick resigned from her position.
