Rail chaos: Waterford commuters endure delays of up to two hours
Waterford rail commuters endured delays of up to 90 minutes today.
This morning, passengers travelling to Waterford from Dublin’s Heuston Station had to get off the 10.15am service in Bagnelstown, county Carlow and were ferried by bus for the rest of the journey.
Irish Rail said the problem arose after an on-rail engineering vehicle broke down close to Bagnelstown Station.
The incident resulted in delays of up to two hours. However, Irish Rail say the engine has now been removed and train services are again running to schedule.
The national rail provider has apologised to passengers for the inconvenience.
