Patients and visitors attending Waterford hospital fork out €1.15m in car park fees

Patients and visitors attending University Hospital Waterford (UHW) paid out a whopping €1,152,498 in car parking fees last year.
UHW recorded the third highest amount from car parking fees of all the Health Service Executive-run hospitals in the country, according to figures released under the Freedom of Information Act and published by The Sunday Independent.
Only Cork University Hospital (€2,574,979) and Galway University Hospital (€1,389,725) took in more in parking fees that the Waterford hospital.
Overall, public hospitals across the country took in €11.7 million in car parkling fees last year, slightly less than the €12.8 million earned in 2018.
