Man who died in workplace tragedy in county Waterford named locally
The man who died in a tragic workplace accident in county Waterford yesterday has been named locally.
Maurice Lenihan, a businessman and hugely popular figure in Kilmacthomas and the surrounding area died as a result of a tragic incident.
A car Mr Lenihan was working on rolled off a hoist causing him serious head and chest injuries. Emergency services were rushed to the scene but were unfortunately not able to revive him and he was pronounced dead.
The incident happened at Newtown, a village just two kilometres from Kilmacthomas, shortly after 11.30am yesterday.
A Garda investigation into the incident has been launched.
