Look what gardai discovered at ‘routine’ checkpoint on Dublin-Waterford motorway

Gardai seized this massive haul of illegal drugs after they stopped and searched a vehicle on the M9 heading in the direction of Waterford.
The driver, a man in his 40s, was arrested after gardai discovered approximately €800,000 worth of suspected cannabis resin which was vaccum packed in the back of the vehicle.
Gardai said the vehicle was stopped and searched as part of a “routine” traffic checkpoint southbound on the M9 in county Carlow at around 5.40pm.
The driver of the van, a man aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene and taken to Carlow Garda Station where he was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Gardai said their investigations “are ongoing”.
