Leaving Cert and Junior Cert oral exams cancelled, all Waterford students to receive top marks
All Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate oral exams have been cancelled and all students will receive full marks, it was confirmed this morning.
And the deadline for submissions for the practical and coursework part of the subjects have been extended until May 15.
The news will come as a massive relief to Waterford students who have been left in limbo regarding the oral exams, worth up to 40% of the overall language subject mark.
The announcement was made in the last few minutes by Education Minister Joe McHugh. The oral exams were due to begin on March 23 but have now been cancelled.
There was no further information regarding a decision on the Leaving and Junior Cert exams, which are due to begin June.
