Woman arrested after shooting in Waterford city released without charge

A woman who was arrested in connection with the shooting incident in Waterford city earlier this week has been released without charge.

The 27-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday along with two men aged 30 and 32 and taken to Waterford Garda Station where they were questioned in relation to the shooting of a man in his 40s in the Carrickpherish Road area of the city at 2.15pm on Monday.

The woman was subsequently released without charge. A file on the matter is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) .

The two male suspects remain in custody.

The victim of the shooting remains in a critical condition at University Hospital Waterford (UHW).
