LATEST: 364 new cases of virus confirmed, Trump tweets ‘I’ll be back’ from hospital
There has been no further coronavirus related deaths but 364 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.
The overall death toll as a result of the virus remains at 1,810. There are now 38,032 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 100 cases are in Dublin, 55 in Cork, 31 in Donegal, 24 in Limerick, 23 in Galway,17 in Clare, 14 in Sligo, 13 in Roscommon, 10 in Kerry, 8 in Tipperary, 8 in Wicklow, 7 in Kildare, 6 in Kilkenny, 6 in Offaly, 5 in Cavan, 5 in Mayo, 5 in Meath, with the remaining 27 cases in nine other counties.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump took to Twitter this evening from the hospital where he is being treated for the coronavirus to say he is improving. But he admitted the next few days would be “the real test”.
Mr Trump admiited he “was not feeling well” when he arrived at the Walter Reed Military Medical Centre on Friday, but he insisted his condition has improved.
“We’re working hard to get me all the way back … I think I’ll be back soon and I look forward to finishing up the campaign the way it was started,” President Trump said from his suite at the hospital.
