LATEST: 18 new cases of virus confirmed in Waterford

One more person has died after contracting the coronvairus as 378 new cases of Covid019 were confirmed this evening.

It brings the overall death toll as a result of the virus to 1,979. There are now 67,903 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 124 are in Dublin, 34 in Donegal, 23 in Louth, 19 in Cork, 19 in Limerick with the remaining 159 cases are spread across 20 other counties, including 18 further infections in Waterford.
