Large quantity of cocaine seized during search of house in Waterford city

Gardai seized a large quantity of cocaine during a search of a house in Waterford city over the weekend.
The drugs bust followed the arrest of a man who was found to be in possession of around €3,000 of the drug earlier in the day.
The man’s vehicle was stopped by members of the Waterford Divisional Drug Unit who were on patrol in the Lismore Park area of the city on Saturday.
Gardai found 44 grams with an estimated street value of €3,073 in the vehicle.
The driver was arrested and taken to Waterford Garda Station where he was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996.
Gardai later searched a property in the city and seized a “large quantitiy of cocaine” which estimated to be worth €21,000, pending analysis.
Officers also discovered a mixing agent in the premises along with other drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was subsequenetly released. A file on the matter is currently been prepared for Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
