In vino veritas: Famous Waterford castle gets green light to recreate historic vinery
The locaol authority has given the green light for works to reinstate a historic building on the grounds of Lismore Castle to its former glory.
Waterford City and County Council has given permission to Lismore Realty Limited to reinstate four timber bays to the vinery in the Lismore Castle Gardens, which will return the vinery to its original composition.
Lismore Realty Limited is a company that handles some of the business of the Duke of Devonshire, owner of Lismore Castle and Estate.
The reinstated bays will be timber, matching the design and detail of the existing eight historic bays, on the existing plinth wall and against the existing main lean-too wall. These proposed works will reinstate the vinery to its original form of 12 bays.
