If you’re planning to travel to Sligo for Waterford FC’s match, don’t – it’s been postponed due to Storm Jorge
Waterford FC’s match against Sligo Rovers has been postponed due to the weather and the oncoming Storm Jorge, it has been announced.
“Due to an extreme weather warning, the decision has been taken to postpone Waterford FC’s fixture away to Sligo Rovers,” a statement from SSE Airtricity League says. “New date to be confirmed.
“With only necessary travel advised, the decision has been taken on the health and safety grounds of both players and supporters.”
Red weather wind warnings are currently in place for counties Clare and Galway, while Waterford, Sligo and the remainder of the rest of the country are covered by Orange warnings.
Waterford FC were due on the road this weekend to take on Sligo Rovers in The Showgrounds with the Blues manager as Alan Reynolds’hoping his side bounced back after Monday’s defeat to Shamrock Rovers.
