Plans for huge new housing estate in sought after area of Waterford city
Plans have been unveiled for an ambitious new development in a sought-after area of Waterford city, consisting of a mix of houses and apartments that will provide accommodation for almost 500 people.
Holyhill Developments Limited have lodged plans with Waterford City and County Council to build 57 houses and 32 apartments at Holyhill, Knockboy on the Dunmore Road.
As part of the project, Holyhill have applied to build 20 two-storey, three bed semi-detached house with optional attic conversion and sunroom; two two-storey, three-bedroom detached homes with optional attic conversion and sunroom; 12 two- storey, four bedroom semi-detached units, with optional attic conversion and sunroom; four two-storey, four bedroom detached houses, with optional attic conversion and sunroom; and 19 two- storey, four bed detached homes, with optional attic conversion and sunroom.
The 32 apartments will be housed within five separate apartment blocks which will be either two-and-a-half- storey high and three-and-a-half-storey high.
The first block will contain four apartments, two one-bed and two two-bed apartments. Two blocks of 16 apartments will each house eight one-bed and eight two-bed apartments.
Two more blocks will contain six apartments each, all two-bed apartments.
The proposed development also includes a new road entrance and two new pedestrian entrances from the Dunmore Road.
The development will also see the creation of 154 car-parking spaces and 175 sqm of private gardens.
