GAA back with a bang as Waterford Club Championships to be played off over the month of August

The GAA club championship is coming back to Waterford and we will have new football and hurling county champions crowned as soon as August.
Last night the draws were made for a shortened county championship and it is expected the tournaments will be completed by the end of August.
County board delegates meet during a special meeting held online last night and agreed to adopt a new format for both senior championships, which would enable them to complete the competitions over the space of four weeks.
The first matches will be played on August 1 and the finals taking place on Sunday, August 30.
In both the hurling and football championship it was agreed to divide the competition into to four groups of three, with a round-robin within the groups deciding who will go onto the knock-out phase.
