Former pub in Waterford town to be transformed into six apartments
A former popular bar in a county Waterford town is set to be transformed into a development of much-needed one-bedroom apartments.
O’Murchu’s Sportsbar on Dungarvan’s Mary Street has been granted planning permission by Waterford City and County Council to convert the building into apartments and a ground floor retail unit.
Paul and Mary Curran made the application to convert the former public house, which has been lying idle for some time now, last December and received approval at the start of the month.
Once completed the building will consist of a ground floor retail unit and a two-bedroom apartment, while there will be five one-bedroom apartments built over the second and third floor level.
As part of the permission, a small extension will be built onto the back of the building.
