Elderly woman involved in horror three-car crash on Waterford to Cork road dies

An elderly woman who was involved in a three-car collision near a garage on the Waterford to Cork road has died from her injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N25 in Burgess, near Killeagh, county Cork at around 4.30pm on Friday.

The collision occurred when three cars collided at the junction of a filling station.

A 94-year-old woman who suffered serious injuries in the crash had to be airlifted to Cork University Hospital.

Gardai this morning confirmed that she died from her injuries yesterday.

Two other people who were injured in the collision, a 46-year-old man and 27-year-old woman, have both since been discharged from hospital.

Gardaí are appealing for potential witnesses who were travelling on the N25 at Burgess between 4pm and 4.30pm on Friday, particularly any motorists with dash cam footage, to contact Midleton Garda Station on 021 4621550, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
