Dunmore bus gears up for return

Bus services to Portlaw and Dunmore East could soon be restored, a local TD has said.
Green Party deputy Marc Ó Cathasaigh said he expected the National Transport Authority to help solve the problem “in the coming weeks” by supporting the licensed services from Portlaw and Dunmore East, operated by Suirway, and the Slieverue-Ballygunnar route, operated by JJ Kavanagh.
These services to Waterford city have been suspended since March, with no replacement provided for commuters dependent on public transport.
“It is my understanding that the NTA is currently engaging with both JJ Kavanagh and Suirway, with a view to agreeing the appropriate mechanism and the funding to recommence services as soon as possible,” said Mr Ó Cathasaigh .
