Ho! Ho! Ho! Dungarvan to kick off festive fun on November 24
Ho! Ho! Ho! Did someone just say the ‘C’ word?
With Halloween just behind us it’s already time to turn our attention to the busy festive period.
First out of the block is the fabulous Dungarvan Aglow which just bigger and better every year having spent over €100,000 on the spectacular lights that mark the beginning of Christmas in the South East.
Kicking off on Sunday, November 24, the six-week festival promises a packed schedule of more than 70 events.
It all begins with the turning on of the lights at at 4:30pm by The Mayor and rumour has it that the Man in Red himself might make an appearance.
The festival runs until January 6 and dates to stick in the diary include:
- Saturday, November 30: Children’s Tractor Run parades on Main Street.
- Sunday, December 8: Cycle with Santa on the Greenway – a leisurely half hour with great views of the amazing countryside and fun for all.
- Saturday December 14: Lawlor’s will host its magical Princess Afternoon Tea with everyone’s favorite Disney characters and a Christmas Concert Special will take place in the Library.
Other highlights include family-centered yoga, amazing glazing pottery workshops, festive movies, Nutcracker the ballet and Gymboree for the tiniest members of the family and finishing up with a four-course Nollaig na mBan meal at The Park Hotel.
