COVID-19 LATEST: Fourth person dies as 121 new cases are confirmed

A fourth person has died from the coronavirus as 121 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.

The Department of Health confirmed the latest fatality and coronavirus cases shortly after 6pm. It brings to 906 the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

Meanwhile, a second patient with Covid-19 has died in Northern Ireland. The elderly patient had an underlying medical condition and was being treated in hospital, Stormont’s health department said.

In the UK, a further 47 people died after testing positive for the coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths to 281.

The number of confirmed cases in Britain rose to 5,683 from 5,018 yesterday.
