Class news: Waterford school unveils plans for new extension
A county Waterford school is seeking permission to build a new classroom and resource room.
The Board of Management of Our Lady of Mercy National School, Carrigahilla, in Stradbally recently made the application to Waterford City and County Council.
Under the plans, the existing storage shed and play shed to the side of the existing school will be demolished to make way for the construction of a new single storey extension.
A new corrridor will also be built to connect the extension to the existing school, while the soft play area wil be relocated to the front of the school.
Our Lady of Mercy National School currently caters for just under 100 students, boys and girls.
A decision is due on the application early in the New Year.
