BREAKING: Waterford among 344 new cases of virus as four more deaths confirmed

A further four people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 344 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.

It brings the overall death toll as a result of the virus to 2,022. There are now 70,143 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 127 are in Dublin, 46 in Cork, 26 in Louth, 22 in Donegal, 20 in Limerick with the remaining 103 cases are spread across 20 other counties, including 12 further infections in Waterford.
