BREAKING: Three homes in Waterford estate burgled in countdown to Christmas

Three homes in the same Waterford city estate were broken into without hours of each other in the countdown to Christmas.

The break-ins ocurred at Maple Close, Carrig An Ard at the Six Cross Roads, sometime between 9am and 5.15pm yesterday.

All of the houses were ransacked, but it has not yet been confirmed if anything was stolen.

A local Garda spokesperson confirmed the burglars gained entry to the houses by forcing open the front door of one home, a front window in another and the rear window in the third property.

Gardai are hunting for the thieves behind the break-ins. They have urged potential eyewitnesses or anyone who mahy have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Waterford Garda Station on 051 305 300.
