‘Beloved husband’ – funeral details for fisherman who died in sea tragedy announced
Funeral arrangements for the fisherman who died at University Hospital Waterford after the trawler he was working on sank off Hook Head have been announced.
The remains of popular grandfather Joe Sinnott (65) will respose at Mulligans Funeral Homes in Wexford today and tomorrow from 3pm to 8pm as the rescue operation for his missing friend and colleague, Willie Whelan (41), get underway.
Joe (pictured above), from Seaview, Kilmore, was described as “beloved husband of Mary and loving father of Michael, Siobhan, Bernie and Bridget” who will be “sadly missed by his family, brother, sister, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends”.
Funeral prayers will be said on Wednesday at 11.15am, followed by removal to St Mary’s Church in Kilmore for funeral mass at 12noon, with burial afterwards at the new cemetery.
Joe’s heartbroken family have requested that any donations be made in “lieu to the RNLI” who are taking part in the ongoing search operation.
