‘Arrogance’ – Waterford poll-topper David Cullinane hits out at Fianna Fáil for ruling out Sinn Féin talks

Waterford poll-topping TD David Cullinane has hit out Fianna Fáil after the party today confirmed it would not be entering into coalition talks with Sinn Féin.
A majority of Fianna Fáil parliamentary party leaders earlier backed leader Micheál Martin’s position that the party will not enter a coalition Sinn Féin, but will instead seek to lead a new government with other parties.
This drew an angry response from Deputy Cullinane, who earlier confirmed that he will be on Sinn Féin’s negotiating team during coalition talks over the coming weeks.
“Fianna Fáil have learned nothing from their failed General Election campaign,” he wrote on Facebook.
“Ruling out talking to Sinn Féin and ignoring nearly 40% of the electorate in Waterford who voted for Sinn Féin is more of the same arrogance.
“If FF put Leo Varadkar back into power it flies in the face of the demand for change by the electorate.”
