Waterford man arrested following discovery of €20,000 worth of drugs in car

A Waterford man in his 40s has been arrested after drugs were found in the car he was driving.

The man was stopped at a checkpoint gardai had set up at Lemybrien as part of an Operation Thor day of action yesterday.

Gardai from Dungarvan searched the car and discovered cannabis with a street value of €20,000.

The man, who is from the Dungarvan area, was arrested on the scene and taken to Tramore Garda Station where he remains in custody.

Gardai believe the drugs were destined for the Dungarvan market.
