10% surge in planning applications across Waterford city and county

Planning applications to Waterford City and County Council have risen by 10% this year, new figures reveal.
The local authority received a total of 899 planning applications up until the end of November.
The council received 813 planning applications during the same period last year – a 10.6% increase year-on-year.
The number of pre-planning applications received up to the end of November fell year on year. A total of 530 were received by the council this year, a drop in the 573 of pre-planning applications made during the same period in 2018.
Pre-planning occurs before an applicant applies for full planning permission.
