Waterford-made organic whiskey and ‘baby beef ragu’ win over judges

Two innovative Waterford companies walked away as winners at the recent 2020 National Organic Awards.
Waterford Distillery was awarded the Retail Award for their new organic Gaia 1.1 Whisky, the first organic Irish whiskey on the market.
Meanwhile, Pipin Pear won the New and Innovative Award for their organic chilled baby food product ‘Baby Beef Ragu’. The new product uses 100% recyclable packaging and a bowl format making it convenient for on the go.
Bord Bia, in association with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, recognised the achievements of six organic Irish food and drink companies at he National Organic Awards. The winners were announced on Bord Bia’s social media channels this win, with successful companies winning a digital marketing package worth up to €5,000.
Bord Bia CEO Tara McCarthy said: “The range of organic products coming out of Ireland right now is exceptional, and the dedication to producing world class organic produce was evident amongst the entire shortlist for the Awards.”
