The show must go on: Waterford awards to celebrate best of local business in difficult year
Entries are now being accepted for the 2020 Waterford Business Awards.
The awards, designed to recognize excellence in business across Waterford city and county, are organised by Waterford Chamber in collaboration with Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber, and with support from Waterford City & County Council and WLR.
Launching the awards, Waterford Chamber President Danette Connolly said: “We are now entering year seven of the Waterford Business Awards and while the easiest thing would be to hold off for a year in light of the current situation, we believe what better time to share some positivity and promote our local businesses.
“To reflect Covid-19, the awards ceremony will be moving online in February, but we can still guarantee a great night of celebration. We have reduced the number of categories for this year and we have also taken Covid-19 restrictions into account, so the awards are very much a reflection of the world we live in right now.”
WLR Managing Director Des Whelan added: “WLR FM is delighted to partner with Waterford Chamber, Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber, along with Waterford Council on the 2020 Business Awards initiative. I think it’s more important than ever to recognize excellence in local business and industry. It’s been a hugely disruptive year for business in Waterford and the awards are a very positive spotlight on the innovation and entrepreneurship we have in the City and County.”
